Description:

The Commercial Construction Laborer plays a critical role in supporting skilled trades and supervisors on commercial construction sites. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of general labor tasks that contribute to the efficiency, safety, and overall progress of active job sites. The ideal candidate is hardworking, dependable, and willing to assist wherever needed to keep projects moving. This role is essential in maintaining job site organization, preparing work areas, and ensuring that trades have the materials and support required to complete work safely and on schedule.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist carpenters, concrete crews, and other skilled trades with daily tasks.
  • Load, unload, carry, and stage construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform site preparation activities such as debris removal, cleaning, and organizing.
  • Support concrete operations including forming, placing, finishing, and material handling.
  • Dig trenches, excavate areas, backfill, and compact soil as directed.
  • Safely operate basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Set up and maintain job site safety barriers, signage, and protective measures.
  • Follow instructions from foremen, supervisors, and skilled trades personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies and comply with OSHA and site-specific safety regulations.
  • Travel to and from job sites.

*Other tasks may be assigned.


Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).
  • Prior experience working in commercial construction or general labor roles is a plus.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, shovels, compactors, and related equipment.
  • Basic understanding of construction processes, job site safety, and common trade practices.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites required.
  • Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, carrying, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.


Physical Demands
