Junior Project Accountant

Would you like a change? Do you want to work for a company that invests in its team and offers real opportunities for career growth? Brycon is hiring a motivated, detailed, and safety-orientated Junior Accountant to work with our Corporate Headquarters team in Rio Rancho, NM.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record general ledger entries.
  • Maintain records for monthly sales and use tax reporting.
  • Maintain monthly lease schedules.
  • Maintain fixed assets accounting systems, including adding new assets and/or disposing of old assets.
  • Prepare customer/client billings as needed.
  • Analyze and maintain monthly general ledger reconciliations, including identifying issues and processing corrections.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly allocation of overhead costs.
  • Maintain paperless invoice routing and approval system.
  • Prepare or assist in preparing various monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Research, interpret, and apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to accurately maintain accounting records and prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Assist in streamlining internal and business reporting processes.
  • Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls.
  • Support the Finance and Accounting team with other activities, projects, and analyses as needed.

Skills and Experience

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products - especially Excel.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage time, work efficiently, and meet deadlines.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of computer, spreadsheet, and financial systems, programs, and applications.
  • Excellent ability to analyze financial data, identify inconsistencies, and propose solutions to identified problems.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position; the candidate must complete and pass a background check and a ten-panel drug/alcohol screening.
