Job description

Americo is hiring a full time Operations Associate to join our expanding team!
The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, on site at our downtown Kansas City, MO office location.
Overview
This department is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of agent onboarding, compliance, and maintenance in accordance with federal, state, and corporate guidelines.
This role supports agents, IMOs, and internal stakeholders and plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely agent contracting, compliance tracking, and processing activities within established guidelines and service level expectations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Complete thorough reviews of agent contracting applications, including background investigations and data entry into source systems.
  • Review, evaluate, and take appropriate action to onboard agents in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Process state appointments and terminations in accordance with state and corporate guidelines.
  • Manage maintenance requests including Errors & Omissions (E&O), Producer Errors, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and continuing education compliance.
  • Communicate daily with agents, IMOs, and internal customers to support contracting and compliance activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage competing deadlines effectively.
  • Strong independent problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset with the ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in insurance, operations, or agent contracting.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements such as AML, E&O, and state licensing processes.
