DIRECTOR INSURANCE OPERATIONS# DIRECTOR INSURANCE OPERATIONSLegal Address - South Jordan, UT 84095## OverviewPosition TypeFull Time## Description# About This RoleLone Peak Insurance Company (LPIC) is a Utah-domiciled P&C carrier that underwrites contractual liability insurance policies backing vehicle service contracts administered by Alpha Warranty Services. We need someone to own the day-to-day operation of this carrier—licensing, statutory filings, regulatory correspondence, ERM documentation, board preparation, and outside advisor coordination.This is an execution role with real authority over carrier operations. You will also take on operational projects across Alpha Warranty and Cadence Innovations Group as priorities shift. The work is varied, and the person in this seat will touch almost every part of how a specialty insurer actually runs.# What You Own## Carrier Operations (~70%)* State licensing and expansion. Coordinate filings, custodial agreements, and DOI correspondence with outside counsel. Manage the multi-state admission pipeline.* Statutory financial statements. Manage the preparation and filing process for quarterly and annual statements with the NAIC and state regulators. This includes gathering source data, coordinating with outside accountants, reviewing drafts, and ensuring deadlines are met.* Enterprise risk management. Maintain the risk register, assign owners, run the quarterly review cycle, and document risk appetite and tolerance thresholds.* Board and advisory board support. Help prepare meeting materials, record minutes, collect conflict-of-interest statements, and coordinate advisory board scheduling.* Compliance administration. Manage compliance software, regulatory correspondence, and examination support.* Reinsurance operations. Handle routine reporting and settlement mechanics with reinsurance partners.* Advisor coordination. Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for regulatory counsel, AM Best consultants, independent actuaries, and outside accountants.## Group Operations (~30%)* Operational project support across Alpha Warranty Services and Cadence Innovations Group, including vendor contract reviews, policy documentation, process improvements, and finance team projects as directed by the CFO.* Help build redundancy and documentation into finance and compliance processes.## Qualifications# Requirements## Must-Haves* Statutory accounting experience. You have prepared or reviewed NAIC annual and quarterly statements for a P&C carrier.* State licensing and DOI filing experience. You have managed admission applications, responded to regulator inquiries, and tracked multi-state compliance obligations.* 5+ years working at or directly with a P&C insurance carrier or reinsurer. Agency and brokerage experience does not substitute.* Strong written communication. This role produces memos, policies, regulatory responses, and board materials.## Strong Preferences* ERM or compliance program experience. You have built or maintained a risk register, run a compliance committee, or prepared ERM documentation for a regulator or rating agency.* Reinsurance operations knowledge, including cession reporting, trust administration, or assumed/ceded premium accounting.* Small-carrier background. We need someone comfortable operating with minimal infrastructure and broad responsibility.* AM Best exposure. You have participated in a rating process, helped prepare materials for an analyst meeting, or worked at a rated carrier.
