Placement: Direct Hire

Job Title: Manager Insurance 

Salary Range: $200,000 to $250,000 (DOE


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Ensure that a competent, motivated, and developing staff are working effectively and efficiently to meet current and planned insurance activities, and that insurance unit's budget is developed and monitored

Persuade insurance markets in and outside of U.S. to accept/underwrite company insurance at lowest possible premium

Develop the strategy for risk financing, including the establishment of reserves and the fair allocation of costs across businesses

Evaluate the most cost effective way to provide risk management services to company using a mix of company employees and outside consultants

Ensure the development of s and responsive relationships with insurance companies to negotiate and obtain the most favorable insurance contract prices and terms

Analyze corporate exposures to loss, to prepare avoidance and negotiations strategies

Ensure that monitoring and controlling mechanisms are in place to remain informed

Inform superior of significant issues and to support general sound management decisions.


Qualifications

 Undergraduate degree in insurance, finance, or business

    Professional designation as a certified property casualty underwriter, associate in risk management, or certified life underwriter are prerequisites, as is at least 10+ years of progressively more responsible experience in insurance and risk management

    Broad knowledge of major types of insurance coverage (e.g., property, casualty, etc.), worldwide insurance markets and risk management services (e.g., claims paying, investigations, collections, etc.)

    Good understanding of accounting principles and cost allocations

    Ability to manage staff
