POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position will participate in and support all aspects of the legal and risk management aspects of the Lightstone businesses, including transaction support, contract review and negotiation, structuring, and interaction with and support of the various business teams across the company. This will include working interactively with the members of the legal department in various capacities, including supervising smaller transactions, assistance with the contract management process, and establishing and implementing protocols and processes to improve efficiency and compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts across all areas of the company, including but not limited to non-disclosure, consulting, service, HR, vendor, listing and commissions agreements, transaction contracts and leases.
  • Provide legal advice to all business units across the organization
  • Draft and update appropriate templates and work with company business units to develop contract strategies to support the organization
  • Ensure consistency of contract terms with company policies and goals and best practice to enhance the contract review processes
  • Interpret contract requirements, obligations, and risk exposure and advise on same
  • Provide direction and guidance related to the contracting process. Provide input to the development, maintenance, and management of contracting policies and procedures
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in law reviewing general commercial contracts
  • JD and bar requirements
  • Requires general transactional background
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Self-starter
  • Must be analytical & have strong attention to detail
  • Accountability, adaptability, communication, and integrity
  • Experience in a corporate business environment
  • Ability to work on diversity of projects; Multi-tasker
  • Experience with acquisitions and financing of real estate assets is a plus
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Team player capable of leading and participating within cross-functional project teams to meet key milestones under tight timelines and stressful conditions


Offered salary commensurate with experience, $130k - $155k base plus discretionary bonus
