Our manufacturing client, located in the central part of Indiana, is seeking an enthusiastic HR Generalist - 2nd shift to join their Corporate HR team. As part of the Human Resources team this position works with Operations, Safety, first-aid and HR leadership contributing to the organization's overall people strategy, initiatives, and tactics. Responsible for providing HR support and daily HR functions of the facility.

HR Generalist Responsibilities:

  • Professional demeanor and ethical conduct, including handling confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient working in web-based HRIS, Payroll and other HR-related software, including report writing
  • Aid in execution of the processes that attract, develop, recognize, and retain employees to support the site's short- and long-term strategic business needs
  • Ensure the culture & working environment is open, empowering, fair, and equitable
  • Support safety culture by driving people related safety goals and business initiatives
  • Provide coaching and counsel to management and employees on HR programs and policies
  • Coordinate with various members of management to conduct investigations and propose resolution to employee complaints and/or concerns
  • Facilitate and execute training for various HR initiatives and measure overall effectiveness.
  • Support HR events and activities.
  • Identify problems or issues and communicate related trends to HR leadership.
  • Responsible for fostering a cohesive workplace with the highest ethical standards by treating all team members with dignity and respect.
  • Maintain team member compliance of company policies, safety and quality standards, and good housekeeping through the application of fair and consistent accountability methods.
  • Addresses issues and concerns requiring the interpretation and application of policies and procedures to resolve issues related to employee relations matters.
  • Leads matters regarding employment separations, demotions, and department transfers.
  • Assists stakeholders and employees with dispute resolution matters.
  • Adhere to scheduled working hours and attend work consistently to ensure smooth operation and effective teamwork.

HR Generalist Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree required. Human Resources or related field.
  • 2 + years of HR experience required.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a mandatory requirement for this role.
  • Prior experience in a large (100+ team member) operation is highly desired, as is multi-plant experience
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations
  • Ability to work with team members of all levels
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to develop and present compelling business-based presentations
  • Must be self-directed and able to handle large, concurrent projects with minimal supervision
  • Ability to understand and translate business strategy into relevant, value-added HR actions and/or initiatives
