Job description

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Loan Operations department to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of loan activities.
  2. Support the administration and maintenance of loan accounts, records, systems, and operational controls.
  3. Monitor operational performance, reporting, and quality standards to maintain portfolio integrity and regulatory compliance.
  4. Provide guidance, problem resolution, and support to Loan Operations staff, front-line employees, and other departments.
  5. Assist with workflow coordination, staff training, cross-training, and employee development.
  6. Participate in process improvements, system enhancements, departmental projects, and strategic initiatives.
  7. Prepare, review, and analyze operational and management reports and communicate findings, risk, and trends with staff and management.
  8. Provide training and day-to-day guidance to team members while serving as a subject matter expert for Loan Operations
  9. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and enhance customer service.
  10. Serve as a subject matter expert and assist with departmental leadership responsibilities as assigned.
  11. Acts as a backup for Loan Operations functions and positions as needed
  12. Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
  13. Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude with co-workers and customers.
  14. Strives to improve efficiency in his/her work area through cost savings.
  15. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
  16. Completes all training assigned by HR, IT, Compliance, BSA, and supervisor on a timely basis.
  17. Follows IT Security Policies and Procedures, including the diligent reporting of phishing emails.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Associate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent banking experience and education may be considered
  • Loan operations, loan serving, and lending support experience is a plus

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Tact and public relations expertise
  • Experience utilizing Jack Henry system is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
