Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Support in managing the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring that all departments are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Supervise and lead the Front Desk, Concierge, and other key operational areas to ensure the highest level of Guest service is provided.
  • Provide cross-training for all team members for all shift-related duties and responsibilities.
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and assist with training and development to ensure staff meet the hotel's service standards.
  • Assist in creating and delivering pre-shift and departmental meetings
  • Address Guest inquiries, complaints, and requests promptly, ensuring follow-up to confirm Guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with scheduling and resource allocation to ensure the hotel operates within its financial targets.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and team members to ensure that Guest experiences are personalized and exceed expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, service standards, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and resolve maintenance issues and ensure that the property is in excellent condition.
  • Assist with the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of hotel staff as needed.
  • Implement and oversee employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment and enhance Team Member satisfaction.
  • Assist with marketing efforts to promote the hotel’s services and amenities, collaborating with the marketing team as required.
  • Ensure that all hotel records and reports are accurately maintained and up to date.
  • Communicate effectively with Guests, team members, and other departments to ensure a seamless operation and effective interdepartmental communication.
  • Assist in managing hotel reservations and rooms inventory.
  • Assist with budgeting and meeting financial goals.
  • Assist hotel management with training, coaching, and mentoring Team Members
  • Must maintain knowledge of all Jamul Casino Resort events, products, amenities, player tiers, incentives, rewards, and services.
  • Create, implement, and continuously improve methods to ensure exemplary Guest service.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrate and exemplify Jamul Casino Resort’s core values (F.I.R.S.T.) daily, both internal and external Guests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management. 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • 3+ years’ experience in hospitality
  • 1+ year experience in a supervisory/lead role
  • Experience in hotel expansion preferred
  • Must have flexibility to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate
  • Experience in utilizing Hotel systems such as Infor HMS, Duetto, Agilysys, HotSOS, etc.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Must be reliable, pleasant, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Experience with Forbes and AAA standards highly preferred
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification preferred (company provided if needed).
