HCM Consultant (Hybrid - Washington DC)
Job Description
The HCM Consultant supports the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of Oracle Fusion HCM across the organization. This role partners closely with People Operations and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable system solutions, streamline HR processes, and ensure a stable and efficient HCM environment. The consultant contributes to the product roadmap, supports release management, and provides hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, reporting, and user enablement.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the HCM Product Lead to support the final phases of Oracle Fusion HCM implementation and provide ongoing support for live modules.
- Collaborate with People Operations to gather, clarify, and translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable system solutions.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, and improve overall system efficiency within Oracle Fusion HCM.
- Troubleshoot system issues and support timely resolution of functional and configuration-related defects.
- Support testing efforts for system changes, quarterly releases, and future module implementations, ensuring quality and stability.
- Assist with hands-on system configuration, including Journeys, workflows, approvals, and related setup within Oracle Fusion HCM.
- Support the intake, tracking, and prioritization of system requests using JIRA or similar tools.
- Participate in Phase 3 implementation activities and ongoing release management processes, including quarterly Oracle updates.
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and scheduling standard and ad hoc reports to support HR, Finance, and other business needs.
- Support training and enablement for People Operations by creating documentation, job aids, and providing ongoing user support.
- Collaborate with IT, Finance, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment between HCM system capabilities and business objectives.
- Contribute to the HCM product roadmap and enhancement backlog by providing insights on process improvements and system capabilities.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of experience supporting Oracle Fusion HCM.
- Experience as an Oracle Fusion HCM subject matter expert, particularly across multiple HCM modules.
- Exposure to the majority of Oracle HCM modules, including Finance, Recruit, Core HR, Talent, Learning, Benefits, Time & Labor, and Absence Management.
- Experience with system configuration, including Journeys, workflows, approvals, and related setup.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot functional and configuration-related issues within Oracle Fusion HCM.
- Experience with developing, maintaining, and scheduling standard and ad hoc reports.
- Exposure to release management and system governance processes for cloud-based HCM systems.
- Understanding of HR process design and optimization, including opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes.
- Experience with project management activities related to HCM implementations or enhancements.
- Ability to support testing efforts for system changes, quarterly releases, and new module implementations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Desired experience with ADP Workforce Now Payroll.
- Experience working with enterprise-wide ERP implementations.
- Familiarity with JIRA or similar tools for intake, tracking, and prioritization of system requests.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working with HR, IT, Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to create clear documentation, job aids, and training materials for system users.
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid work environment with a flexible schedule, typically requiring onsite presence 2-3 days per week. The HCM Consultant works closely with the HCM Lead and collaborates regularly with IT, Finance, People Operations, and other key stakeholders. The position supports an enterprise-wide ERP implementation and involves working with Oracle Fusion HCM, ADP Workforce Now Payroll (desired), JIRA, and various reporting tools. The environment emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement of HR systems and processes, and proactive engagement in release management and ongoing system enhancements

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $100.00/hr.
