What is ATS implementation?

ATS implementation refers to the process of setting up and integrating an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) within an organization’s recruitment workflow. This involves configuring the software to meet the company’s needs, importing or migrating data, training users, and ensuring smooth adoption among HR staff and hiring managers. A successful ATS implementation helps streamline recruitment, improve candidate management, and enhance reporting capabilities. Proper planning and customization are important to fully realize the benefits of an ATS.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in ATS Implementation, and why are they important?

To excel in ATS Implementation, you need a solid background in HR processes, project management, and technical aptitude, often supported by a degree in HR, IT, or business. Familiarity with leading applicant tracking systems (such as Greenhouse, iCIMS, or Workday), data migration tools, and relevant certifications like PMP or SHRM-CP are highly beneficial. Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills help professionals effectively gather requirements and ensure a smooth rollout. These competencies are essential to deliver seamless integrations, maximize system adoption, and support efficient recruitment workflows.

What are some common challenges faced during ATS implementation, and how can they be effectively managed?

One common challenge in ATS (Applicant Tracking System) implementation is ensuring seamless integration with existing HR systems and workflows. This often requires close collaboration with IT and HR teams to map out data migration and compatibility. Another challenge is user adoption—training staff to use the new system efficiently and addressing resistance to change is crucial. Clear communication, comprehensive training sessions, and ongoing support are essential strategies to overcome these hurdles and ensure a smooth transition.

Global Talent Acquisition Manager

Global Talent Acquisition Manager

Regal Cinemas, Inc

Knoxville, TN • On-site

Full-time

Job description

The Opportunity

Regal is one of the world's largest cinema operators with over 9,000 screens across 10 countries. The People and Culture team is in an active phase of transformation and this is a pivotal hire within that journey.

You'll be joining at exactly the right moment, when the foundation is in place and the real building work begins. This is a rare opportunity to put your fingerprints on something that matters, with the full backing of senior leadership and the autonomy to do it right.

What makes this role unique:

  • Build and mature a TA function from a strong foundation
  • Develop a focused team into consultative, metrics-driven TA professionals
  • Own a high-visibility ATS implementation from UAT through go-live
  • Refresh an employer brand and candidate experience for a globally recognized company
  • Partner directly with senior business leaders across the US and UK with visibility to CPO level

What You'll Own

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a multi-regional team of TA partners across the US and UK
  • Set the standard for what great recruiting looks like and build the operating model around it
  • Develop your team's capability to deliver against that standard consistently
  • Personally own a select portfolio of senior, technical, and specialist requisitions that require direct involvement
  • Build the team's capacity over time, this role is expected to grow the function as Regal's hiring needs scale

Process and Methodology

  • Design and implement the TA operating model for US and UK corporate functions from the ground up
  • Build SOPs, quality gates, interview frameworks, and hiring manager toolkits
  • Define SLAs and accountability structures that create a repeatable and equitable hiring process
  • Introduce metrics and reporting that give leadership meaningful insight into pipeline health and hiring performance

Employer Brand and Hiring Enablement

  • Lead a meaningful refresh of Regal's employer value proposition and careers page
  • Rebuild field hiring support materials and hiring manager guides, a significant project with real impact
  • Partner with marketing and communications to ensure Regal's story is told compellingly across all candidate-facing touchpoints
  • Establish Regal as a destination employer in the markets where we hire

Oracle ATS Implementation

  • Take ownership of Regal's Oracle ATS implementation through UAT, stakeholder training, and go-live
  • Ensure clean configuration, strong adoption, and data integrity across the team from day one
  • Build reporting frameworks within the system that support ongoing decision making

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Serve as the primary TA advisor to US and UK corporate function leaders
  • Build trusted relationships with hiring managers and challenge hiring norms with data
  • Bring a consultative point of view to workforce planning conversations
  • Be a visible and present partner in the Knoxville office, this role requires regular in-person engagement with stakeholders and the team

What We're Looking For

The Builder Mindset

  • Demonstrable experience building or significantly rebuilding a TA function, not just running one
  • Comfortable creating process where little exists and sequencing work across multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Energized by ambiguity and ownership rather than needing defined structure to operate effectively
  • Track record of leaving teams and functions meaningfully better than you found them

Strong TA Methodology

  • Deep command of modern, efficient recruiting practice
  • Structured interviewing, competency-based assessment, and data-driven sourcing
  • A genuine point of view on what great talent acquisition looks like and the ability to teach it
  • Experience recruiting senior, technical, and specialist roles personally

People Leadership

  • Experience leading a recruiting team, not just coordinating one
  • Ability to develop junior talent, set clear expectations, and hold people accountable with care
  • Track record of building a culture of quality, discipline, and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable being the most experienced person in the room and modeling the standard you expect

Project Execution

  • End-to-end project delivery experience, ATS implementations, process builds, employer brand refreshes, hiring manager enablement programs
  • Ability to scope, plan, and execute without being pushed
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to drive alignment and adoption across regions

Data and Metrics Fluency

  • Builds reporting that tells a real story rather than just tracking activity
  • Uses data to influence hiring manager behavior and inform workforce planning
  • Comfortable establishing metrics frameworks where none currently exist

ATS Experience

  • Oracle Recruiting Cloud experience a plus but not required
  • Experience implementing or significantly configuring a mature ATS is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to drive adoption and data integrity across a recruiting team

A Note on Scope

This is a role with a focused team covering US and UK corporate functions, approximately 200 roles annually. It is not a sprawling global enterprise TA leadership role and we want to be transparent about that.

The right person is ownership-driven and genuinely excited about building something meaningful rather than managing something large. If you want to see your fingerprints on a function and watch a team grow because of your leadership, this is exactly that opportunity.

Location

This role is based in Knoxville, Tennessee with regular in-office presence required. Knoxville offers a strong quality of life, reasonable cost of living, and easy access to the Smoky Mountains and the broader Southeast.

Being present in the office is important for this role, for your team, your stakeholders, and your ability to make an impact. The People and Culture team is based here and this role is expected to be a visible and consistent presence.

Annual team gatherings may require occasional travel.
