What is ATS implementation?

ATS implementation refers to the process of setting up and integrating an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) within an organization’s recruitment workflow. This involves configuring the software to meet the company’s needs, importing or migrating data, training users, and ensuring smooth adoption among HR staff and hiring managers. A successful ATS implementation helps streamline recruitment, improve candidate management, and enhance reporting capabilities. Proper planning and customization are important to fully realize the benefits of an ATS.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in ATS Implementation, and why are they important?

To excel in ATS Implementation, you need a solid background in HR processes, project management, and technical aptitude, often supported by a degree in HR, IT, or business. Familiarity with leading applicant tracking systems (such as Greenhouse, iCIMS, or Workday), data migration tools, and relevant certifications like PMP or SHRM-CP are highly beneficial. Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills help professionals effectively gather requirements and ensure a smooth rollout. These competencies are essential to deliver seamless integrations, maximize system adoption, and support efficient recruitment workflows.

What are some common challenges faced during ATS implementation, and how can they be effectively managed?

One common challenge in ATS (Applicant Tracking System) implementation is ensuring seamless integration with existing HR systems and workflows. This often requires close collaboration with IT and HR teams to map out data migration and compatibility. Another challenge is user adoption—training staff to use the new system efficiently and addressing resistance to change is crucial. Clear communication, comprehensive training sessions, and ongoing support are essential strategies to overcome these hurdles and ensure a smooth transition.

About MML

At McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality (MML), our mission is to create some of the world's most memorable hospitality experiences-where food, design, service, and storytelling come together seamlessly. Led by Larry McGuire, Tom Moorman, and Liz Lambert, MML is known for its refined, character-driven approach to hospitality, rooted in creativity, quality, and a deep sense of place.

As we continue to grow, we're entering an exciting new chapter. We've welcomed James Beard Award-winning chef April Bloomfield to our culinary leadership team and are bringing new energy to iconic and emerging destinations alike-with projects like the historic Driskill Hotel, Sixth & Blanco, Clark's Malibu, and more on the horizon.

At MML, we're not just building restaurants or hotels-we're crafting spaces that leave a lasting impression.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Recruiter to join our team in Austin. In this role, you'll be responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent across MML's diverse hospitality concepts. You'll partner closely with operators, HR, and leadership to understand staffing needs, design recruiting strategies, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in high-volume recruiting, ideally within hospitality or restaurants, and thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.

What MML Hospitality offers

  • Bonus Potential
  • Paid Time Off
  • MML Property Discounts (Hotel, Restaurant, Retail)
  • Advancement and Promotion Opportunities
  • Community Service Opportunities
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, and Pet Insurance
  • Retirement Benefits
  • Parental Leave

What you'll do

Recruitment & Sourcing

  • Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for restaurant, hotel, and support roles across MML, maintaining a strong understanding of the MML culture and brand
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to build diverse candidate pipelines, including job boards, referrals, social media, and networking
  • Conduct screening interviews to assess candidate qualifications, cultural fit, and career goals
  • Maintain a high-touch candidate experience from application to offer

Partnership & Stakeholder Support

  • Partner with operators and hiring managers to understand staffing needs and role requirements
  • Provide guidance on job descriptions, interview practices, and selection processes
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with leaders to anticipate hiring needs and workforce planning

Systems & Process Management

  • Maintain accurate candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and across multiple candidate sourcing channels
  • Track key recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, pipeline activity, source of hire) to identify trends and improve efficiency
  • Identify areas of opportunity across recruitment processes and proactively seek solutions  to improve productivity and candidate experience
  • Support implementation of new recruitment software as necessary, including new applicant tracking systems (ATS)
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local employment regulations

Employer Branding & Engagement

  • Represent MML Hospitality at job fairs, networking events, and community outreach initiatives
  • Support internal referral programs and creative recruiting campaigns to attract top talent
  • Help shape the MML employer brand through thoughtful candidate engagement and storytelling

Special Projects

  • Contribute to cross-functional projects that enhance recruitment processes, onboarding, and retention
  • Support seasonal and new concept hiring initiatives to ensure successful openings and smooth transitions
Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of dedicated recruiting experience, ideally within hospitality, restaurants, or a multi-unit environment
  • Demonstrated success in high-volume and specialized recruiting
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing techniques and ATS systems; ATS implementation experience preferred
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with candidates and operators
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information
  • Bilingual in Spanish (written and spoken) strongly preferred but not required

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Must be available during select weekends and after hours during peak hiring or openings
  • Must be available to travel on-site in Austin and to other MML locations to assist with recruiting efforts during peak seasons, new openings, etc. (up to 20% travel)
  • Regular computer use, sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs
