Objective
Maintain and control all quality aspects of the processing establishment. Responsible for completing all record keeping on HACCP, SSOP & SOP records.
Organizational Relationships
Reports directly to FSQA Supervisor & organizationally to FSQA Manager.
Internal Contacts: USDA Inspector, FSQA Manager, Director of Food Safety, Director of Operations, VP of Processing, Production Supervisors, Receiving Manager, Production Employees & Plant Security.
Primary Job Duties
  1. Document and maintain HACCP, SSOP & SOP records daily.
  2. Perform and record pre-operational and operational checks when assigned.
  3. Direct activities of Sanitation and Production personnel.
  4. Audits various programs that deal with checking the quality and wholesomeness of product
  5. Performs organoleptic checks on products daily.
  6. Interacts and converses with USDA Inspectors daily.
  7. Interacts with the Sanitation personnel to perform their job function and acts as a guide that aids them as needed.
  8. Provide on-going daily monitoring of compliance by plant employees regarding sanitation and hygiene. Conducts remedial training.
  9. Inspect the entire facility for deficiencies in sanitation and maintenance issues.
  10. Assists the department in designing new quality programs.
  11. Follow-up on specific customer complaints in the direction of the FSQA Supervisor.
  12. Cross train with other team members.
  13. Interacts with other departments to perform their job function and acts as a guide when needed.
  14. Assumes FSQA Monitor or FSQA Preop Technician when personnel are off or on break.

Requirements
Position Pre-Requisites
Minimum: High School Diploma and related experience. A college degree in a related field preferrable. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to operate a computer and iPad. Spanish is a plus.
Skill Requirements
Be able to perform math and be observant. Be able to follow directions and instructions.
Physical Requirements
Requires the ability to withstand a cold climate for at least 8 hours a day. Ability to bend, squat lift and move around machinery.
Working Conditions
Must be able to stand in cold climate for a maximum of 8 hours at a time with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
