Job description


The FSQA Superintendent provides support to the Tempo Ready to Heat (RTH) Team in ensuring that core Food Safety & Quality programs are maintained in a state of compliance. The FSQA Superintendent leads by example in driving food safety culture. 

Detailed Responsibilities

Oversee food safety, quality assurance and sanitation in Home Chef's ready to heat kitchens

  • Ensure the enforcement of key aspects of Home Chef RTH Food Safety and Quality Systems, designed to meet the regulatory, Food Safety and Quality requirements to assure compliance with SQF requirements. 
  • Assist in the gathering, trending and reporting of metrics that effectively measure and communicate performance.
  • Works closely with the plant teams and cross-functionally in understanding, identifying gaps and proposing changes to RTH processes that affect quality systems compliance.
  • Responsible for reviewing production and CCP records for weekly positive release of all RTH meals

Support RTH Sanitation and QC Supervisor & Hourly Staff in day to day operations

  • Respond and provide solutions to escalations in a 24/7 production environment
  • Provide coverage support as needed in a 24/7 production environment 
  • Work with recruiting teams to adequately staff each shift 
  • Assist supervisors in personnel coaching as needed

Drive Improvements of RTH Food Safety & Quality Management System

  • Identify gaps in programs through internal audit or CAPA 
  • Provide thorough corrective actions to deviations and gaps through partnership with FSQA team and cross functional team members 
  • Deliver training to plant FSQA teams related to program rollout
  • Deliver communication with plant and corporate stakeholders regarding new or updated programs

Develop RTH Supervisory Staff 

  • Lead weekly supervisory meetings
  • Perform as subject matter expert to new programs rollouts 
  • Identify and coach supervisory team on developmental opportunities 
  • Conduct performance reviews on direct reports

Travel Requirements: This position may require up to 10% travel 

Qualifications

  • Completion of a two-year program such as an Associate degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in quality assurance, food safety, food distribution, food manufacturing, supply chain, or related field
  • Previous experience with GFSI, SQF and USDA audits preferred.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality programs
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter who is results-oriented, resourceful, and takes initiative
  • Capable of handling multiple responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace change and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
