Job Duties:
This position is integral to the mission of the University Dining department. Dishwashers help to ensure that clean dining equipment, utensils, silverware, plates, and glasses are readily available so that customers have an enjoyable dining experience in our facilities. Responsibilities include proper equipment use and care, temperature control, sanitization methods and chemical usage, courteous service, and personal health and safety training. The ability to communicate with team members and management and to work alternate hours as needed is required. In addition, student employees and other part-time staff members receive training and mentorship from this position. This position reports to the University Dining Food Service Assistant Manager.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Operates a dishwashing station and associated equipment
  • Assists student employees and provides training as needed
  • Cleans and maintains equipment and work areas to ensure adherence to safe food quality, handling, and sanitation processes and procedures
  • Shelves and organizes (stockroom, warehouse) inventory
  • Moves and maintains equipment and furniture for dining events

Department:
The University Dining Department has service units located within the DeBot Residential Dining Center (Upper DeBot Dining Center and Lower DeBot Marketplace), the Dreyfus University Center, and the Chemistry/Biology Building on the main UW-Stevens Point campus and operates a food truck operation in the larger community. University Dining is a department within the Student Affairs division and is closely linked with the University Centers and Housing and Residence Life.
Compensation:
The Dishwasher is a full-time position during the academic year/part time in summer, hourly, non-exempt, annual (12-month), university staff position.
Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within a range of $15 - $17 per hour commensurate with the candidate's education, related experience, and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to lift to 50# as needed. A pre-employment physical assessment is required prior to work.
  • Basic knowledge of sanitation procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of stocking procedures.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of dishwashing equipment.
  • The ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within three months of hire and/or complete recertification within three months of expiration.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work as a team.
