Front Desk Manager Description

INTRODUCTION

The Front Desk Manager directs and coordinates the activities of the front desk including training and supervising all front desk staff members as well as point of sale management.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hires, trains, schedules and supervises team of up to 20 front desk staff
  • Provides courteous customer service and responds to customer’s questions, complaints or requests. Directs any unresolved issues to the General Manager
  • Assists supervised staff in their job performance during peak activity periods or as required
  • Manages Point of Sale system including changing pricing, promotions and merchandise buttons as needed
  • Manages cash including cashing in and counting down tills, deposits and change requests
  • Procures office supplies, equipment and repairs to ensure that the front desk is sufficiently supplied
  • Manages inventory and supplies including helium, drinks, snacks, t-shirts and cleaning supplies
  • Organizes and maintains front desk files
  • Manages payroll
  • Sets performance goals for cashiers to increase sales
  • Maintains an image of competence and professionalism to customers, employees and management
  • Maintains proper employee/employer relations and addresses any questions in a timely and open manner, including disciplinary actions, recognition and performance evaluations
  • Provides or performs other services or duties as required by General Manager

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience managing cashiers and point of sale required. Experience managing a team strongly preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
