Ambulance Fleet Porter / Vehicle Detail & Maintenance Assistant
Vital Medical Transport - Memphis
Full-Time Hourly
Vital Medical Transport is looking for a dependable, hands-on team member to join our operations team as an Ambulance Fleet Porter. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working around vehicles, likes staying active during the workday, and wants to be part of the healthcare field without needing medical certification.
You will play a critical role in keeping our ambulances clean, stocked, and ready to serve patients. Our crews depend on you - and patients do too.

What you will do
Fleet Readiness & Inventory
  • Stock ambulances with medical supplies and equipment
  • Check vehicles daily for readiness and safety
  • Maintain equipment and inventory tracking logs
  • Request replacement supplies when needed

Vehicle Cleaning & Detailing
  • Wash, polish, and vacuum ambulances
  • Interior and exterior cleaning and sanitation
  • Carpet shampooing and deep cleaning
  • Keep stations and vehicle bays organized

Basic Maintenance Support
  • Assist with preventative maintenance (fluid levels, filters, minor service)
  • Inspect tires, wheels, and spare equipment
  • Prepare vehicles for service appointments
  • Report damage or repair needs to management
  • Maintain maintenance logs

Team Support
  • Coordinate with crews and dispatch professionally
  • Run errands and transport vehicles as needed
  • Assist with equipment organization
  • Other duties to support operations

Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
  • State Driver's License, CDL Preferred but not mandatory
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Driving record in compliance with company policy
  • Experience working with vehicles, preferably in healthcare

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work involves exposure to the elements, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises.
  • Must be able to work in all environments.
  • Extensive physical activity, heavy lifting, pushing or pulling objects over 75lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, walk and lift up to 75 pounds multiple times throughout a shift.
