Financial Operations Manager

Expedia Group brands power global travel for everyone, everywhere, and our teams create solutions that help partners deliver seamless travel experiences at scale.

Introduction to the team

This role sits within the B2B Finance organization, which includes financial operations roles that support strong financial processes, operational excellence, and business growth. The Financial Operations Manager plays a key role in connecting accounting, operational delivery, partner needs, and business change so new initiatives are implemented with sound end-to-end financial process flows.

Make an impact

As a Financial Operations Manager, you will lead accounting and finance specialists responsible for delivering high-quality financial operations initiatives, partner implementations, and funds flow management and reporting that support business growth and development.

You will work closely with business owners, stakeholders, and external or internal partners to define financial requirements early, solve operational challenges, and implement practical, controlled solutions that scale.

In this role, you will

  • Lead accounting and finance specialists in the delivery of best-in-class financial operations initiatives, partner implementations, and funds flow reporting processes.
  • Ensure new initiatives, product enhancements, and process changes are designed with sound accounting process flows by defining financial requirements upfront and aligning stakeholders early in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Partner in upfront negotiations to understand commercial and operational needs, then translate those requirements into complete end-to-end accounting and financial process flow solutions.
  • Manage funds flow design, operational readiness, reconciliation expectations, reporting requirements, and control considerations to support compliant and scalable execution.
  • Solve complex operational and accounting problems and embed sustainable solutions that meet stakeholder and partner needs without compromising financial control.
  • Lead the development and delivery of business cases, project scope documents, requirements documentation, test plans, implementation plans, and rollout communications.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery across finance, accounting, product, operations, commercial, and partner-facing teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Identify process gaps, control risks, and improvement opportunities, and recommend changes that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

Experience and qualifications

  • You have experience in financial operations, accounting, finance transformation, partner implementation, or a related field.
  • You have strong knowledge of accounting process flows, operational controls, reconciliation concepts, and financial reporting requirements.
  • You have experience translating business needs into clear financial and operational requirements and managing delivery across multiple stakeholders.
  • You are comfortable working in cross-functional environments and influencing business owners, operational teams, and external partners.
  • You have experience building business cases, defining project scope, writing requirements, supporting testing, and managing implementation communications.
  • You are a structured problem solver who can balance commercial needs with sound financial governance and control.
  • You are proficient in written and verbal communication and can explain complex financial process topics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You have a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; or equivalent related professional experience.
The total cash range for this position in Springfield is $90,000.00 to $126,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $144,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
