This full-time opportunity is designed for an experienced public accounting professional who excels at leading complex healthcare assurance engagements while mentoring audit teams and building trusted client relationships.The successful candidate will oversee healthcare-focused audit, assurance, and advisory engagements for hospitals, continuing care communities, healthcare organizations, and related entities. This leadership role requires strong technical accounting expertise, engagement management experience, and the ability to provide strategic guidance while maintaining exceptional client service.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple healthcare assurance engagements, including GAAP audits, compilations, reviews, Yellow Book audits, and write-up services.
  • Direct engagement planning, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation in collaboration with Assurance leadership.
  • Evaluate internal control environments and develop risk-based audit programs and engagement plans.
  • Review financial statements, disclosures, management letters, audit reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop associate and senior associate team members through coaching, performance feedback, and technical guidance.
  • Monitor engagement budgets, identify scope changes, and communicate additional service opportunities to leadership and clients.
  • Provide consulting support for entity selection, accounting system implementations, and financial reporting improvements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of GAAP, healthcare accounting standards, auditing requirements, and regulatory changes affecting healthcare organizations.
  • Partner with firm leadership on business development, client relationship management, networking, and practice growth initiatives.
  • Represent the firm professionally while delivering exceptional client service and fostering long-term client relationships.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience with progressive audit and assurance responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and healthcare financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience serving healthcare organizations, continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), or comparable healthcare entities.
  • Experience planning, managing, and supervising audit and assurance engagements.
  • Strong leadership, project management, communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
  • Experience reviewing financial statements and leading engagement teams.
  • Proficiency using accounting, auditing, and engagement management software.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality.
