Job description

We are partnering with the Community College of Rhode Island to find a detail-oriented Financial Reporting Manager to provide leadership and oversight of student financial operations, including billing, collections, cashiering, accounts receivable, and financial reporting functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong higher education financial management experience, with expertise in student accounts, ERP systems, compliance requirements, and operational improvements.

Responsibilities of the Financial Reporting Manager:
  • Oversee Bursar and student financial operations, including billing, cashiering, collections, accounts receivable, refunds, payment plans, and financial reporting.
  • Manage student account processes, ensure accurate transactions, maintain internal controls, and support compliance with federal, state, audit, FERPA, PCI, and IRS requirements.
  • Administer and improve student financial systems, including ERP functionality, reporting, system testing, and process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, and campus stakeholders to improve financial operations and student service delivery.
Qualifications of the Financial Reporting Manager:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or management experience in higher education financial operations, student accounts, or related areas.
  • Experience with Banner Student, Banner Accounts Receivable, or comparable higher education ERP systems, along with strong knowledge of billing, collections, cashiering, and accounts receivable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; experience with TouchNet, Augusoft, or similar systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
