Director of Financial Operations
Located in Downtown Portland (Hybrid)
Salary: $100,000–$110,000, depending on experience Position Summary

The Director of Financial Operations leads the organization’s day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and actionable financial insight. This role partners closely with the CFO and department leaders to support operational decision-making, financial planning, and long-term sustainability in a complex nonprofit environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior operational finance leader, preparing materials for the Board and partnering cross-functionally across the organization
  • Lead day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, cash flow management, monthly close, and GAAP-compliant reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports to support leadership decisions
  • Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, scenario modeling, and long-range financial planning with the CFO
  • Provide financial analysis, program costing, and clear insights for non-financial leaders across departments
  • Oversee audits, Form 990 preparation, internal controls, and financial policies; modernize systems and reporting

  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
