Exential is seeking an experienced Manager of Financial Reporting to join our team in Plano, TX. This role is responsible for leading the preparation, analysis, and delivery of accurate and timely financial statements for U.S. business operations. The position manages a team of three Financial Analysts and works closely with Commercial Accounting, Project Accounting, Shared Service Accounting, Operations, and Corporate Finance.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation, review, and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal reporting standards.
  • Oversee period-end close activities, coordinating with the Shared Service Accounting team to ensure high-quality and on-time reporting.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and support compliance with audit requirements, IFRS standards, and corporate policies.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of three Financial Analysts, including performance management, workload prioritization, and professional development.
  • Analyze financial results to identify trends, variances, and key business drivers, and clearly communicate insights to senior leadership.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis, scenario modeling, and decision support reporting to business leaders.
  • Drive continuous improvement by streamlining reporting processes through automation, standardization, and enhanced templates.
  • Lead the effective use and ongoing improvement of financial reporting tools and systems, including Excel, Power BI, and ERP platforms.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning by providing historical data, trend analysis, and actionable insights.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Operations, HR, and Corporate Finance to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and organizational alignment.
  • Prepare and present financial information to stakeholders with varying levels of financial expertise, ensuring clarity and business relevance.
  • Represent the organization in internal and external reviews, including audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Financial Management, or a related field required.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in financial control and/or project control.
  • Industry accounting experience preferred, ideally within construction or manufacturing.
  • Advanced accounting knowledge with expertise in both U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP S/4HANA, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of internal control systems and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Finance or Accounting, or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA).
  • Prior financial management experience.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and improving business standard procedures.
  • Expertise in Percentage of Completion (POC) revenue recognition.
  • Strong financial management and control experience within the construction industry.
  • Proven ability to analyze and manage cash flow across multiple entities.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Experience managing remote or distributed teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement performance improvement opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for meetings and training sessions.
