Job description

Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Finance Analyst to own Catalyst Brands Ocean and Drayage operational and financial reporting while supporting broader domestic freight reporting initiatives. This role partners closely with Transportation, Finance, and Accounting to ensure accurate reporting, actionable insights, and strong financial controls across freight spend.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of supply chain knowledge, financial acumen, and technical reporting skills, with a curiosity to dig into data and continuously improve visibility and performance.
This position will work at our Plano TX Corporate office 4 days per week + 1 day remote per week.
Responsibilities
Ocean & Drayage Reporting
• Own end to end operational and financial reporting for Ocean and Drayage freight.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance reporting to track spend, performance, and trends.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling for freight spend.
• Partner with Transportation stakeholders to explain variances, identify risks, and highlight improvement opportunities.
Domestic Freight Reporting Support
• Support the Senior Manager with reporting and analysis for Linehaul, Store Delivery, and Pool Point networks.
• Assist with ad hoc analysis, operational metrics, and executive level reporting.
Financial & Accounting Support
• Support the month end financial close process, including accruals, journal entries, and GL review.
• Participate in periodic financial reviews and variance analysis.
• Ensure reporting aligns with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Lead or support budgeting and forecasting cycles.
Analytics, KPIs & Dashboards
• Develop, monitor, and continuously improve KPIs and performance metrics.
• Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards for operational and financial insights.
• Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and improve reporting accuracy.
• Leverage AI tools to provide enhanced insights.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
• Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivots, models, etc.).
• SQL experience preferred; willingness to learn required.
• Experience with database management, including: updating and maintaining; ensuring data accuracy and integrity
• Experience creating and maintaining dashboards and data visualization tools.
Experience & Knowledge
• Supply Chain or Transportation experience preferred.
• 3+ years of Finance and/or Accounting experience.
• Familiarity with Financial reporting, Budgeting, Forecasting, and Financial modeling.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and accounting fundamentals.
Core Competencies
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
• High attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture.
• Self motivated and comfortable working independently.
