Mission-Focused Organization | Portland Metro Area (Hybrid + Local Travel)

Are you someone who enjoys bringing order to financial processes while supporting work that makes a real impact in the community? Do you thrive in roles that combine relationship-building, variety, and hands-on accounting responsibilities? This could be an excellent fit for your next step.

About the Role: Financial Operations Partner

A respected nonprofit organization serving the Portland metro community is adding to its accounting team and seeking a Financial Operations Partner to support the financial operations of multiple programs and locations.

This hybrid role includes local travel throughout the Portland area, typically visiting different sites 2–3 days per week, with remote flexibility based on operational needs. No overnight travel is required. The position offers a dynamic mix of accounting responsibilities, collaboration with site leaders, and meaningful involvement in a mission-centered environment.

You’ll serve as a key resource to operational teams by helping maintain accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations across several locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and process invoices, payments, and financial transactions in alignment with internal procedures
  • Prepare journal entries, financial analyses, and monthly reporting packages
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations and supporting documentation
  • Contribute to budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and process improvement initiatives
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation tracking
  • Provide occasional administrative and employee support functions related to benefits and personnel documentation

Ideal Background

  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel
  • Organized, adaptable, and comfortable working independently across multiple locations - willingness to travel locally throughout the Portland metro area
  • Collaborative communication style with a customer-service mindset
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance and/or equivalent experience

What Makes This Opportunity Different

  • Meaningful work supporting organizations that positively impact the local community
  • A collaborative and supportive accounting team environment
  • Variety in your week through exposure to different teams, locations, and operational needs
  • Flexibility with a hybrid schedule and strong organizational stability
