Job description

Let's introduce ourselves

The Technical Support Engineer is within the Americas Quality Organization and reports to the Technical Engineering Division. In this role, the Technical Support Engineer serves as the Technical Expert for the Americas region, working in conjunction with the Retailer Technical Support team, the Americas National Sales Company, and the Central organization (CMQ-Current Model Quality) to solve the most difficult technical cases. Ā 

What you'll do

Ā  Ā Provide vehicle diagnostic support and expertise to the Retailer Technical Support team.
Ā  Ā Coach and mentor the Retailer Technical Support team by continually sharing and developing content to improve overall technical competence.
Ā  Ā Lead hands-on vehicle testing and instrumentation initiatives to support the Product Performance Engineering team.
Ā  Ā Find solutions to quality deviations within the Americas Region by utilizing all available technical resources.

What you'll bring

Ā  Ā Retailer Technical Support team experience preferred
Ā  Ā Effectively gather, share, and communicate technical information with various audiences
Ā  Ā Strong knowledge of advanced automotive diagnostics
Ā  Ā Applicants must possess strong critical thinking and complex reasoning skills to effectively diagnose and solve technical issues
Ā  Ā Demonstrate a strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
Ā  Ā Highest degree of professionalism and organizational skills
Ā  Ā Experience using VIDA, DSA, DRO, PIE, CANalyzer, INCA, etc. preferred
Ā  Ā Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to effectively use a PC for diagnostic and technical tasks is required
Ā  Ā Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for various technical and administrative tasks
Ā  Ā Volvo Expert technician experience preferred
Ā  Ā All 8 ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications, L1 and L3 (Advanced level specialist) preferred
Ā  Ā This position requires occasional domestic and international travel

Salary Range:
Ā  Ā  Ā $73,347 to $136,217
Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, location and company guidelines
