Job description

Description
The McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for multiple full-time positions with the Department of Accounting, at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor (with or without experience) or tenured associate professor, to begin in academic year 2026-2027.
Our faculty is comprised of scholars with a diverse set of backgrounds and interests. Successful applicants will be expected to establish an internationally recognized research program at the University of Texas, mentor graduate students, and teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The predominant mode of instruction and research is in-person, such that faculty appointed for employment shall reside in the proximate area of the work site for the duration of their appointment and be able to maintain a daily in-person schedule at the assigned work site.
Qualifications
Successful applicants must have strong research and teaching capabilities. A Ph.D. degree should either be completed or near completion with the expectation of completion by the time of the appointment.

All applicants should provide a cover letter, research manuscript, vita, and copies of recent teaching evaluation summaries (if applicable). New PhD graduates should also provide names and email contact information for three faculty willing to provide letters of reference. At their discretion, applicants with experience as an assistant or associate professor may omit names of references initially but will be asked for references if selected as finalists. Additional materials may also be requested after the initial review of applications. All documents should be uploaded to Interfolio at https://apply.interfolio.com/170533.
While there is no strict deadline, candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as materials are complete. Entry-level applications received by October 31, 2025 will receive priority consideration. Experienced applicants are encouraged to apply by September 15, 2025 to be considered for possible fall interviewing.
