Job description

The Project Manager/Application Analyst is a hybrid role that combines execution-focused project management with hands-on enterprise application support.
In the project management capacity, this position leads the structured delivery of approved initiatives using waterfall, agile, or hybrid methodologies. Projects may include operational enhancements, system implementations, process improvements, and cross-functional business initiatives. Key responsibilities include detailed project planning, scope definition and control, schedule and milestone management, resource coordination, risk and issue management, dependency tracking, stakeholder communication, and executive-level status reporting. The role ensures disciplined execution, adherence to governance standards, alignment to approved scope, and successful delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives.
In the application analyst capacity, this role provides the technical expertise required to support enterprise applications and maintain operational stability. As a support resource and backup to the Senior Technical Analyst/SQL Developer, the position sustains working knowledge of SQL development, system integrations, reporting, application analysis, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
By combining project delivery leadership with application proficiency, this role acts as a collaborative link between business teams and enterprise systems-ensuring solutions are well-implemented, sustainable, and aligned with organizational objectives.

Compensation: $96,000-$105,000
Bonus Eligible: Yearly

  • Have SQL/Data skills, including working knowledge of T-SQL (stored procedures and query development), SQL fundamentals, and basic performance tuning; understand ETL and data integration processes; and have experience with source control.
  • Have experience with Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, SSIS, or comparable integration technologies; Azure Integration Services experience is a plus.
  • Have experience using Azure; Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900 or equivalent) or Azure SQL knowledge is a plus.
  • Have some development exposure, with working proficiency in .NET/ASP, JavaScript, XML/HTML, and/or Python, and can read and analyze existing code and system documentation.
  • Have experience using Power BI and/or Tableau, along with advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and analytics.
  • Have support experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, CRM systems, or comparable enterprise applications.
  • Understand application security best practices, identity and access management (e.g., Azure AD/Entra ID concepts), and data privacy standards; HIPAA experience preferred.
  • Are able to work independently while fostering collaborative, cross-functional partnerships.

Pre-employment requirements: Must pass a DHS background study and drug test, and maintain reliable transportation for work-related travel if required.
How you'll be spending your time:
  • Executing approved projects within the organizational portfolio, developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans including scope, timelines, milestones, task assignments, and deliverables.
  • Managing scope, schedule, cost and quality control, risk identification and mitigation, and change management processes to ensure disciplined execution.
  • Providing consistent and structured status reporting to leadership and stakeholders, including dashboards, progress summaries, risk logs, and performance metrics across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Facilitating cross-functional collaboration between business units and IT to ensure shared ownership, clarity of responsibilities, and successful outcomes.
  • Coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT), implementation planning, post-implementation reviews, and transition to operational support.

Application & Process Analysis:
  • Evaluating systems and processes to identify improvement opportunities and documenting data flows, system integrations, and functional requirements.

SQL Development & Technical Support:
  • Developing, enhancing, and maintaining SQL objects (stored procedures, views, queries) including basic performance tuning; analyzing code bases and integrations to understand architecture and dependencies; providing backup coverage when the Senior Technical Analyst/SQL Developer is unavailable.

Data Integrations & Reporting:
  • Supporting data integrations/ETL/interfaces (e.g., Azure services, SSIS, or comparable solutions); developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, and BI solutions to deliver actionable insights.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management and project execution.
  • 3-5 years of experience in software development and/or application support.
  • Working SQL proficiency required; experience with Azure SQL is preferred.
  • Experience providing support for enterprise systems in a professional environment.
  • Experience supporting testing and UAT activities, including test case creation, defect tracking, validation, go-live readiness, and post-go-live support.
  • Experience with identity and access management (e.g., RBAC concepts, provisioning/deprovisioning, least-privilege); Azure AD/Entra ID experience is a plus.
  • Business intelligence and reporting experience preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or other regulated environments preferred.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively to achieve shared outcomes.
