Position: Systems Administrator

Duration: 6+ Months

Location: Nutley, NJ - 07110


Responsibilities:

Perform application/operating system support for large numbers of globally-based Windows/HP systems. 

Analyze alarms from monitoring tools. Perform corrective actions to restore service for clients subscribing to TRM services. 

Implement changes on production devices. Assist front-line client-supporting staff identifying and resolving complex application and connectivity failures. 

Liaise with regional and global staff to ensure production systems are processing data real-time and that all emergency procedures and service restoration documentation are updated accordingly. 

Responsible for reporting service outages and documenting events and service outages in accordance with established procedures


Essential Responsibilities:

Ensuring all service checks, changes, procedures are followed as outlined in service level agreement and internal standard operating procedure. 

Offers solutions and suggestions for process and product improvements to management. 

Complete daily activities ensuring that the team is meeting quality standards for each position set by management. 

Create/Update incident and change tickets with actions taken by the group. 

Perform other miscellaneous duties as needed. 


Required Skills and Experience:

Working knowledge/experience of Solaris/Linux or Microsoft Server Operating Systems 

Working knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office, Internet Protocols, and networking technologies. 

Solid technical, analytical, and problem solving skills with emphasis on both process and technology to solve business problems. 


Desired Skills and Experience:

Technical Operations experience a plus. Working knowledge of news and/or financial markets. 

Experience working within an global organization. 

Experience with administrating Windows-based systems in an enterprise environment. 

ITIL working knowledge.


Shift work: 

Shift Position: Overnight or Day - (includes weekends and rotation on ad-hoc basis) 


Education / Certifications Required: 

Associate/Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field highly preferred. ITIL certification a plus.
