RESPEC is seeking an experienced Engineering Program Manager to join our engineering team in our Fairbanks, AK office. Opportunity summary:

The Engineering Program Manager focuses on operations and business development with a strategic mindset. This role proactively improves the day-to-day operations, production, services, quality and efficiency of the office. This is a client service and staff-oriented role that requires the ability to continually and proactively improve the office's position across operational and financial measures. This leadership role drives the office's performance and long-term sustainability. Overall mission is to make sure the office thrives, improves efficiencies, improves quality, improves services and maintains profitability for the success of the office and in turn the company. As leader in the community, this role contributes to the growth of the organization by identifying, pursuing, and supporting new business and project opportunities.

  • Oversees/monitors staffing, resources, business development, opportunities and reports on office operations. Carries out broad supervisory duties including mentoring, hiring/recruiting, workforce planning, reviewing/approving expenditures, timecards, and performance management.
  • Identifies and resolves existing and potential operational and performance deficiencies.
  • Assists other offices in cross-office work sharing needing resources where possible.
  • Anticipates and tracks staffing needs of the office identifying peaks and valleys.
  • Ability to travel nationwide as needed
  • Other duties as assigned/commensurate with a senior engineer role.
Qualifications

Our ideal candidate enjoys collaborating with a team and diving into new challenges, and will have the following qualifications:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution ย 
  • Professional Engineering license in area of expertise
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible work experience
  • Exceptional skills in team leadership, coordination, and support
  • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with groups both internally and externally.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and present office and individual financial performance measures.
  • Prior supervisory/management experience in an engineering services firm.
  • Ability to travel nationwide as needed.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.

Additional Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Demonstrated business management skills, including an understanding of company and office financials, financial drivers, hiring and staff development, and leadership.
  • Five years of demonstrated experience managing multiple clients and projects while overseeing a team, or teams, of people.
