Job description

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Engineering Program Manager for a contract assignment with one of our premier SaaS clients in San Jose, CA. This is a hybrid role with Tuesday - Thursdays onsite.
Responsibilities:
  • Release & Engineering Operations
    • Manage end-to-end release readiness processes, including planning, execution tracking, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
    • Partner closely with Engineering and Quality Engineering teams to ensure successful delivery and release of product capabilities.
    • Drive operational processes around testing, validation, bug management, launch readiness, and post-release reviews.
    • Maintain visibility into release health, testing status, and critical path dependencies.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Build strong partnerships across globally distributed teams.
    • Facilitate decision-making, manage trade-offs, and drive accountability.
    • Communicate program status and risks clearly to the cross-functional teams.
  • Process Improvement
    • Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, workflows, and tools to increase team effectiveness and execution velocity.
    • Drive scalable practices for planning, tracking, and delivery.
    • Drive accountability through clear ownership, action tracking, and operational rigor.
Required Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in Program Management, Engineering Operations, Technical Program Management, or related roles.
  • Experience managing complex engineering programs and product releases.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, release management, testing processes, and engineering operations.
  • Experience working closely with Engineering, Product Management, and Quality Engineering teams.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive results.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence/Wiki, and project tracking tools.
  • Bachelor's Degree
