Job description

A Mechanical Design Engineering Program Manager job is currently available at Belcan in Indianapolis, IN. This job is a full-time position with benefits. In this job, you will support multiple gas turbine engine design projects adhering to cost, quality, and schedule. You will provide technical execution and project leadership for an Engineering team to progress gas turbine engine component changes through the gated review processes. You will be responsible for project schedule, planning, parts forecasting, risk management and coordination of all the technical activities aimed at assuring project accuracy and delivery from conception to completion. Must communicate effectively with team members, management, and customers, utilizing verbal skills as well as written documents including creation and review of plans, reports and presentations.
Job Duties:
*Drive engineering programs from planning through to completion.
*Be a focal point for the engineering team to our customer, reporting on status, delivery to planned dates, and the managing of scope, expectations, escalations, and actions.
*Support the development of project schedule utilizing MS Project.
*Maintain project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, closing actions, and resolving problems to ensure that customer Milestones are met.
*Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
*Ensure project risks are documented and mitigation plans developed.
*Learn customer design review procedures to efficiently navigate engineering team through required gates while maintaining compliance to program processes.
*Write reports and correspondence. Present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
*Program manage a cross-functional team of design engineers, analysts, modelers, drafters, and project engineers to ensure successful execution of engineering efforts.
*Active engagement with engineers to ensure they have the tools to be successful. Support, guide, mentor team members, as needed, to facilitate efficient support.
* Organize and maintain existing engineering records.
* Perform other such duties as required.
Required:
*B.S. degree in a recognized engineering field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
*Recommended minimum of 15+ years of engineering experience, including leadership roles.
*Experience in the field of gas turbine engines is required.
*Experience implementing corporate policies and procedures (quality documentation, records, etc) related to task execution.
*Proficient in MS Office.
*Ability to write technical reports and correspondence including customer reports.
*Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Preferred:
* Experience with Microsoft Project
* Experience with Earned Value Management
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $125,000 to $150,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
