The Opportunity:

The Portland, OR facility is seeking an innovative and results-oriented Engineering Manager to drive manufacturing excellence through the design and development of new manufacturing processes, production tooling and fixtures, for new products and product redesigns. This role requires proven expertise in leading a high-performing technical team that optimizes manufacturing processes to consistently achieve product requirements, enhanced productivity, and high-quality standards.

What You'll Work On

  • Manage a team of Engineers (incl. Process Development, Manufacturing Engineering) and Technicians.
  • Provide technical oversight and leadership to direct reports regarding project prioritization, new product introduction and process development, process validations, design transfer, and initial production launch activities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams - including Research & Development, Development Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance - to meet product requirements and business objectives.
  • Develop and implement robust manufacturing processes aligned with business goals, Lean Principles, and regulatory requirements (FDA, QMS, EMS).
  • Support cost reduction and operational performance initiatives to improve efficiency, throughput, and overall manufacturing performance to achieve established cost targets.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a diverse, skilled workforce; provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and career development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing).
  • Work Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g. medical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or defense).
  • Minimum 10 years related work experience in a manufacturing environment, with progressive leadership and managerial roles in New Product Development, Process Development, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Strong managerial skills, with proven ability to lead, coach, mentor, and develop employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and hold teams accountable for results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in medical device manufacturing for Class III medical devices.
  • Experience with cable manufacturing processes (incl. extrusion, respooling, cabling, serving, braiding) and manual manufacturing processes (incl. cutting, soldering, crimping).
  • Project management experience involving coordination of cross-functional teams within a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model.
  • Demonstrated success in leading manufacturing technology transfer projects to operations.
