Production Engineering Manager (Liaison Engineering))
Company:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Fabrication organization isseeking a Production Engineering Manager (Liaison Engineering), First Line Manager to join the Boeing Portland, OR Engineering team.
Position Overview:
The role offers an opportunity to manage analysis of engineering data related to the fabrication of flight critical parts for all BCA airplane programs. This is an important role managing an important team, ensuring the highest quality output critical to the safe and efficient operation of the Boeing fleet and exceeding the expectations of our amazing customers.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Manages employees performing activities within Liaison Engineering discipline.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees.
  • Manage the cost, schedule, and technical requirements of multiple projects simultaneously; report performance to plan to senior leadership and executives.
  • Interface with other engineering functions, suppliers, and customers as required to meet business objectives.
  • Lead the team by setting expectations, clarifying strategy, communicating frequently, and talent development.
  • Manage direct reports by providing task assignments, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring compliance to policies and procedures.

Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Portland, OR.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience in support of aerospace products, which should include commercial and/or military airplane.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in Liaison Engineering
  • Proven ability to embrace change, lead continuous improvement, and treat safety and quality as top priorities.
  • Experience leading complex projects.
  • Willingness and ability to manage ambiguity and turn it into action.
  • Managing/Leading and engaging work team.
