Sterile Processing Associate

Location: New York, NY

Pay Rate: $35.00 - $52.00 Per Hour (Depending on Experience)

Duration: 13 Weeks (High possibility of extension or permanent placement)

Schedule:
Day Shift
Monday - Friday
7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
40 Hours Per Week

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Associate to support surgical services by performing decontamination, cleaning, assembly, inspection, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of sterile processing procedures, surgical instrumentation, and sterilization standards while maintaining quality and patient safety.

Responsibilities

Perform decontamination, cleaning, and disinfection of surgical instruments and equipment.
Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble general and specialty surgical instruments.
Ensure complete removal of bio-burden and maintain instrument integrity.
Assemble, wrap, seal, and prepare surgical trays for sterilization.
Inspect instruments for functionality, sharpness, and defects.
Operate sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization processes.
Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation.
Utilize instrument tracking systems to document processing activities.
Follow infection control, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
Assist with inventory management, stocking, and distribution of sterile supplies.
Support operating room case cart preparation and surgical tray management.

Required Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Certification
CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) Certification required.

Experience
Minimum 1-2 years of Sterile Processing experience.
Experience with surgical instrumentation and tray assembly.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies as needed.
Must be flexible to support operational needs, including weekends and holidays if required.
