Job description

The Sales Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining fruitful relationships with retailers relevant to the assigned North Texas market. The purpose of this position is to execute the overall Fort Brewery sales objectives including volume, share, distribution, assortment, etc. within key accounts. This position works under the Distribution Sales Manager. The Sales Representative position must be critically aware of industry best practices, regional competition, and overall beer segment strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and manage business, promotions, distribution, innovation, sales, and pricing initiatives to sell Fort Brewery brands. 

• Total account management including new item sell-in, securing programmed display support, communication of pricing activities and sharing of marketing plans.

• Contribute to the development and management of annual account plans and budgets, preparing and presenting account reviews, and communicating activities effectively both internally and externally.  

• Develop and pursue strategies to quantify leads and deliver profitable sales growth utilizing a variety of resources including the execution of recaps and other internal tools.

 • Work closely with a variety of internal teams to align and increase Fort Brewery visibility • Implement, manage, track execution of and evaluate results of planned initiatives.

•    Responsible for fulfilling pre-established sales objectives set by the Distribution Sales Manager by communicating inventory needs and requests from accounts in a timely-manner and on a daily consistent basis to fulfill daily purchase orders.
•    Responsible for daily decisions regarding retail inventory levels using past sales history, changes in climate, competitive activity, special promotional activities, and any other available information.
•    Effectively communicates issues and opportunities to the DSM as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
•    Increase shelf space and position for Fort products; introduce new brands and packages when appropriate.
•    Responsible for all merchandising and backstock support in assigned accounts on a daily consistent basis (e.g., includes windows, shelves, displays and backstock) ensuring inventory is optimized and the account is always order delivery-ready to optimize Delivery Driver time in account.
•    Stocks all windows, cold boxes, coolers, warm shelves and displays in retail accounts quickly and efficiently to manage inventory and selling spaces.
•    Responsible for maintaining published product freshness standards in assigned retail accounts by monitoring and rotating stocks.
•    Responsible for maintaining draught line and product freshness standards in assigned on premise accounts by monitoring and rotating stocks, and flushing lines.
•    Unloads and moves product repetitively using appropriate equipment throughout shift while maintaining a clear, clutter-free and organized work area/backroom/sales floor in all assigned customer accounts.  
•    Participate in promotional events including tastings / in-house samplings / pint nights / festivals. 
•    Attend sales meetings to discuss sales issues, opportunities to improve sales efforts, and share best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record

• 5+ years sales and marketing experience with in-depth knowledge of the alcohol beverage industry to execute goals and commitments

• 1+ years’ experience working in assigned market

• Bachelor's Degree (preferred) • Cicerone Qualification (preferred)

• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

• Proficiency in preparing and presenting PowerPoint and Excel information using data from various technology tools
