Position Summary...The Group Director, Technology Operations will serve as a senior leader within the Global Governance Digital Strategy team, responsible for defining and executing the technology and AI strategy that drives transformation across Legal, Compliance, Ethics, Investigations, and Security.
The person in this role will lead a portfolio of high-impact, enterprise-scale programs focused on AI enablement, advanced automation, digital product delivery, and operational transformation, ensuring solutions are scalable, compliant, and aligned with Walmart’s global governance priorities.

  • Define and lead the AI and digital transformation strategy for Global Governance in alignment with enterprise priorities.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute AI use cases across governance functions (e.g., legal workflows, compliance monitoring, investigations analytics, risk detection).
  • Partner with business and technology teams to deliver scalable AI products and automation solutions, ensuring responsible AI principles and regulatory compliance.
  • Establish frameworks for AI adoption, governance, and value realization, including measurable outcomes tied to efficiency, risk reduction, and cost savings.
Program & Portfolio Leadership
  • Lead a portfolio of complex, cross-functional programs spanning AI, digital products, automation, and technology modernization.
  • Define program strategies, roadmaps, milestones, and value realization plans aligned to business priorities and enterprise architecture.
  • Establish stage gates, delivery frameworks, and success metrics across multiple initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment across programs to drive cohesive domain-wide transformation.
Program Estimation, Risk Management & Execution
  • Oversee resource planning, budgeting, and capacity modeling across a dynamic portfolio of initiatives.
  • Identify and proactively manage program risks, dependencies, and execution challenges, leveraging scenario planning and mitigation strategies.
  • Implement real-time performance tracking and reporting, driving accountability and continuous improvement across program teams.
  • Enable agile and adaptive execution in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
Stakeholder Influence & Executive Engagement
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, including the CLO and Governance executive team, on technology strategy, AI investments, and digital priorities.
  • Build alignment across stakeholders by translating complex technical concepts into clear, data-driven business narratives.
  • Influence decision-making on high-impact, enterprise-wide initiatives, including prioritization of AI and digital investments.
  • Coach leaders and teams on effective communication, change management, and adoption strategies related to new technologies.
Financial & Value Management
  • Own financial oversight for the digital strategy portfolio, including budget planning, forecasting, and cost optimization.
  • Develop and track ROI models for AI and technology investments, ensuring clear linkage to business outcomes.
  • Partner with Finance and leadership to ensure disciplined investment decisions and measurable value delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency gains, and productivity improvements through technology.
Business Operations & Strategic Planning
  • Leverage data, insights, and industry trends to inform long-term strategy for Global Governance digital capabilities.
  • Develop business cases for major initiatives, particularly those leveraging AI and emerging technologies.
  • Align digital strategy to broader enterprise priorities, including risk management, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Influence how governance functions adopt and scale technology to drive competitive advantage.
Technology & Industry Leadership
  • Maintain deep awareness of emerging technologies, AI trends, and governance-related innovations.
  • Evaluate and approve technology strategies, initiatives, and investments across the domain.
  • Establish best-in-class operating models, processes, and ways of working for digital product delivery.
  • Represent Walmart externally to build industry presence and influence governance technology practices.
People Leadership & Talent Development
  • Build and lead a high-performing team with expertise in AI, technology operations, program management, and digital delivery.
  • Drive talent strategy, including recruiting, development, and succession planning for emerging technology capabilities.
