We prefer for this role to be based in Kirkland, WA at our Corporate Office, however, we are open for it to be remote in the following states: Washington, South Carolina, Nevada, Texas, Colorado, Louisiana, Virginia, or Florida.

The JOB
The Task Force Controller will provide interim financial leadership at a property by maintaining full control over accounting operations during periods of transition or vacancy; oversee month-end closing, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and USALI/GAAP; analyze hotel financial performance including P&L, cash flow, and operating metrics and present insights to property and corporate leadership; train, mentor, and support property accounting teams to ensure continuity and adherence to brand and company standards; implement and strengthen internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain audit readiness;
*** Please note : This role must be flexible with travel and available for on-site placement at hotel properties as needed, with assignment lengths varying. ***

Requirements
To be successful as a Task Force Controller you:
  • Must have experience as a Hotel Director of Finance in a decentralized accounting environment at a full-service hotel, closing the books down to cash.
  • 3-5 years Director of Finance Experience within the Hotel/Resort Industry. High School Diploma Required. Degree in Accounting, Finance and/or similar field preferred.
  • Are hands-on and also see the big picture. Together with your team, you will handle monthly details as well as finance strategy.
  • Besides your own in-depth knowledge of hotel accounting, you are eager to help department heads manage their costs through bottom-line training.
