Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

As Senior Director of Software Engineering, you will define the strategy and lead the organization responsible for AI native product engineering across OCI.

You will:

  1. Establish the engineering vision, strategy, and priorities for products that improve the software development lifecycle across OCI.
  2. Build and lead an exceptional organization through engineering managers, technical leaders, and senior engineers.
  3. Create an environment in which teams can experiment rapidly, learn directly from developers, and turn promising ideas into trusted production products.
  4. Partner with product management, design, security, applied AI, and OCI engineering organizations to identify and solve the most valuable developer problems.
  5. Translate advances in artificial intelligence into useful, secure, reliable, and scalable developer experiences.
  6. Establish clear measures of success, including adoption, developer productivity, software quality, reliability, and time to production.
  7. Ensure that every product meets OCI expectations for security, privacy, performance, availability, and operational excellence.
  8. Lead complex initiatives that span organizations and build alignment among senior technical, product, and business leaders.
  9. Develop engineering leaders, strengthen organizational capability, and create a culture grounded in curiosity, accountability, customer focus, and continuous learning.

You should be energized by ambitious problems and comfortable operating where the opportunity is clear but the path is still being defined. You should know how to move quickly while maintaining the judgment and discipline required to build products that OCI engineers can trust.

Basic Qualifications

  1. More than 10 years of experience building and operating production software products, developer platforms, cloud services, or large scale distributed systems.
  2. Significant experience leading engineering organizations through managers and senior technical leaders.
  3. A record of taking new products from early exploration and customer validation through production delivery and broad adoption.
  4. Demonstrated success defining organizational strategy, establishing measurable goals, developing leaders, and delivering complex initiatives across organizations.
  5. Strong knowledge of modern software development practices, including source control, continuous integration, testing, release automation, observability, and production operations.
  6. Experience building products that apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, intelligent agents, or related technologies to meaningful customer problems.
  7. Strong product judgment and the ability to connect emerging technologies with practical solutions that deliver measurable value.
  8. A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience building developer products or platforms used by large engineering organizations.
  2. Experience applying generative artificial intelligence, intelligent agents, retrieval systems, evaluation frameworks, or model driven automation to software development.
  3. Experience establishing practices for the secure and responsible use of artificial intelligence, including privacy, evaluation, observability, and human oversight.
  4. Experience building new products and organizations in environments that require urgency, adaptability, and rapid learning.
