Digital Merchandising Manager

Opportunity
The Digital Merchandising Manager owns category-level merchandising strategy and execution across Kohler's digital ecosystem-Kohler.com, retail partners, and marketplaces. In addition to driving brand differentiation, content consistency, and eCommerce sales, this role plays a key part in building new capabilities for content creation, copy optimization, and efficiency through AI, ensuring every product story is accurate, compelling, and performance-optimized. The Digital Merchandising Manager is relentless champion for Kohler brand to take market share across Kohler's entire digital shelf for assigned categories.
This role partners closely with Retailers, Category Management, Sales, and Supply Chain to improve new product launch speed, accuracy, and readiness across all digital channels. The Digital Merchandising Manager combines brand storytelling, data-driven optimization, and operational excellence to deliver a premium Kohler experience on every digital shelf.
Specific Responsibilities
Category Ownership & Digital Shelf Strategy
  • Develop and execute category-specific merchandising strategies for assigned product categories that strengthen brand leadership and drive online sales growth delivering premium content & optimal presentation across all platforms.
  • Partner with Brand, Category Management, and Retail Channel teams to ensure alignment on assortment, pricing, and promotional priorities.
  • Champion consistent, conversion-optimized product experiences that balance inspiration, education, and transaction.

Retail & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Collaborate directly with Retail Partners (Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon, Costco, etc.) to optimize content accuracy, readiness, and launch execution.
  • Partner with Retailers, Category Management, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to streamline New Product Launch workflows, ensuring all data, imagery, pricing, and reviews are complete and accurate prior to go-live.
  • Act as the liaison between eCommerce Operations, PIM/Syndication, and Retail Creative Content teams to improve launch speed and reduce rework.
  • Participate in retailer joint business reviews and category meetings, representing Kohler's digital merchandising priorities.

Content Excellence & Brand Consistency
  • Ensure all product content (copy, imagery, videos, specs, A+ content) adheres to Kohler's brand standards and platform requirements.
  • Partner with Content Operations and Creative teams to create & integrate enhanced storytelling, lifestyle imagery, and emerging capabilities such as 3D, AR, and Gen-AI copy optimization.
  • Maintain content accuracy across global product updates, line transitions, and retailer refreshes.

Category Analytics, Dashboards & Optimization
  • Own and deliver monthly category performance dashboards for owned categories, summarizing key business metrics, insights, and actions for leadership.
  • Track and analyze key KPIs for assigned Product Categories across Kohler Digital Shelf including:
  • Sales Performance: Revenue, POS, Conversion, GM%, Profitability, and Top 25 Sku Performance
  • Digital Shelf Visibility: Traffic, Share of Search, PDP Ranking
  • Digital Shelf Content Health: Content Completeness & Accuracy
  • Launch Readiness: New Products, Direct Ship Enablement, On-time Setup
  • Review Metrics: Avg. Rating, Review Qty, Top / Bottom Performers & recommendations, Gen-AI Highlights
  • Key Enrichment Highlights: New Bundles, Performance Marketing Tests, Page Engagement, etc
  • Partner with Analytics and Retail Media teams to translate data into actionable recommendations and continuous improvement plans.

Merchandising Optimization, Build Capabilities, and Continuous Improvement
  • Leverage insights from analytics and retail partners to optimize content, search placement, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Test and iterate page layouts, naming conventions, and promotional messaging to drive higher engagement and conversion.
  • Support enterprise initiatives around taxonomy, PIM enrichment, and digital content governance.
  • Collaborate with Creative Ops and Content teams to develop and test AI-assisted workflows for copy creation, image tagging, and metadata optimization.
  • Evaluate content performance and use AI-enabled tools to identify and correct copy inconsistencies, outdated descriptions, or tone misalignment.

Skills/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in eCommerce, Digital Merchandising, or Category Management within a branded manufacturer or retailer.
  • Proven experience managing digital product content across multiple retail or marketplace platforms.
  • Strong analytical ability-able to interpret complex data into clear business insights.
  • Familiarity with digital shelf management tools (e.g., Salsify, Syndigo, Profitero, Stackline) and analytics dashboards (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau).
  • Understanding of SEO principles, PDP optimization, and digital media integration.
  • Excellent collaboration, project management, and communication skills.

Travel
  • Travel to retailers, trade shows and in-market events as needed, approximately 20%.

This means you'll have access to your applicable benefit programs from your first day on the job, with no waiting period. The salary range for this position is $107,650 - $166,650. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
