Job description

As a Digital Merchandising (DM) Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the Digital Merchandising team in loading and managing the product catalog, maintaining accurate and up-to-date product information, updating pricing information, and other elements of site presentation as needed.  

In service of these goals, you will work closely with the Catalog Operations team, Partner Success team and Category Managers. Typical activities include, but are not limited to, curating product and seller data and performing QA on the catalog, product pages and other elements of the website.  

Job Responsibilities 

You are responsible for building and maintaining subject matter knowledge on your assigned collections and to be an advocate for these collections within the company. This includes:  

  • Market Expertise: You should understand popular products, customer buying trends and competitors. For example, if you support the Sports & Outdoor collection, you should be familiar with how REI, Cabela's, Bass Pro Shop and Dick's merchandise their sites.  
  • Customer Expertise: You should be familiar with the GOVX customer and the voice used to communicate with them.  

You are responsible for curating product, event, and seller data to create a positive shopping experience. This includes:  

  • Product data  
  • Curate new Shop products and keep shop product data current, including images, descriptions product details and pricing.  
  • Map relevant products to primary categories in the GOVX taxonomy  
  • Tag products with relevant keywords to drive catalog discoverability  
  • QA products and collection grids on the live site to ensure the products are displaying correctly  
  • Seller data  
  • Upload seller marketing images, including promo squares and tiles  
  • Map relevant sellers to primary categories in the GOVX taxonomy  

You are responsible for assisting with updating storefront collections to create a compelling shopping experience for members. This includes:  

  • Search the available global product catalog to find and map the most relevant and interesting products to our collections and manage the child-collection structure accordingly  
  • Ensure that only relevant products are showing up in collections (managed through accurate product data)  
  • Update relevant filters within each collection and ensure products are tagged correctly to achieve the desired filter results  
  • Manage modules on collection pages to promote sellers in relevant locations  

You are responsible for developing and maintaining effective working relationships with cross functional teams including Marketing, Customer Care, Logistics and Product.

Requirements

  • 1-2 Years' experience in an office environment performing project-based work.  
  • 1-2 Years' experience in ecommerce or retail preferred.  
  • Comfortable using complex equations and formulas in excel.  
  • Solution and results oriented.  
  • Passionate and mission driven.  
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to switch between projects without sacrificing quality and accuracy.  
  • Proven ability to multitask and deliver work with a high level of accuracy.  
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and CRM experience preferred.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Superior analytical and math skills.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office  

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.  

Travel Requirements: No travel is expected for this position.  

Work Location 

This is a hybrid position that combines working onsite at the GOVX corporate office in San Diego, CA and working remotely from home. You will be required to report to the GOVX corporate office in San Diego, CA a minimum of three days per week and work a full eight-hour shift each day from the office. Start and end times are flexible, but you will be required to be in the office during the core business hours of 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The in-office days will be based on business needs to be set by your manager. Relocation and/or visa sponsorship will not be provided. 

Position will require successful completion of a background check and drug testing prior to starting employment.
