Job description

Apogee Global RMS is looking for a Senior Storage & Virtualization Engineer who is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise storage platforms and virtualization environments. This role ensures high availability, performance, and scalability across mission‑critical systems. Ideal candidates bring strong hands‑on experience with SAN/NAS technologies, VMware, and enterprise backup solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Storage Engineering

  • Manage and optimize enterprise storage systems (SAN, NAS, block and file storage).
  • Perform provisioning, zoning, replication, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor storage capacity, health, and lifecycle management.

Virtualization & Compute

  • Administer VMware environments including ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, HA/DRS, and resource pools.
  • Support virtual machine deployments, migrations, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Maintain hypervisor patching, upgrades, and compliance.

Backup, Recovery & DR

  • Support enterprise backup solutions and ensure reliable restore capabilities.
  • Maintain replication, snapshots, and DR configurations across environments.
  • Participate in DR planning, testing, and documentation.

Infrastructure Operations:

  • Troubleshoot storage, virtualization, and compute-related incidents.
  • Collaborate with network, security, and cloud teams to ensure end‑to‑end system stability.
  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational standards.

Requirements

  • 4–8+ years of experience in storage engineering, virtualization, or infrastructure operations.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with VMware (ESXi, vCenter, HA/DRS).
  • Experience with SAN/NAS technologies (Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, Pure, etc.).
  • Understanding of iSCSI, Fiber Channel, zoning, and storage protocols.
  • Experience with enterprise backup tools (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, etc.).
  • Solid troubleshooting skills across compute, storage, and virtualization layers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud‑integrated storage or hybrid environments.
  • Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Exposure to DR orchestration tools or automation frameworks.
  • Relevant certifications (VMware, NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE, etc.)

Soft Skills:

  • Strong ownership mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, security, and operations teams.
