Position: Full-time Manager, Inside Sales & Applications Engineering

Schedule: A four-month 9/80 work schedule (a two-workweek schedule consisting of eight 9-hour days, one 8-hour day, and one scheduled day off). Then the schedule transitions to a standard Monday through Friday workweek, with timing adjusted based on business needs.

Manager, Inside Sales & Applications Engineering Job Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage and oversee all aspects of the internal sales function, including management and improvement of processes and establishment and monitoring of goals. The position reports to the Director of Sales.

Manager, Inside Sales & Applications Engineering Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and provide leadership to multiple teams including the Application Engineers and Order Entry Administrators. The position must provide guidance and assistance where needed to support their efforts in handling internal or external customer requests.
  • Manage the entire internal sales function including sizing, quotations, and new equipment order management.
  • Establish and communicate clear goals and objectives for the inside sales team to ensure customer satisfaction and service resolution objectives are met.
  • Motivate, coach and manage employee performance and development.
  • Analyze, monitor, and assess activity within Salesforce to ensure team utilization of CRM.
  • Ensure that our new equipment sizing tools, which are critical to the quotation process, are current and accurate. These tools will be used by our internal and external sales personnel, along with our sales channel partners.
  • Ensure that our quotation templates for all product lines are current and accurate as they are critical to the sales process. These will be used by our internal and external sales teams along with our sales channel partners.
  • Manage the processes, procedures and documentation needed for strong communication and direction between our inside sales team and the engineering, production, and accounting departments.
  • Manage the trial equipment pool. Develop and implement the processes that are needed to keep the trial pool running efficiently.
  • Assist with the assembly and updating of all equipment technical data, drawings, price lists, sizing/selection criteria, etc.
  • Provide technical training and ensure that our inside sales personnel are current with customer processes as well as the application of our product lines.
  • Work to remove barriers, provide necessary resources, and escalate/triage issues for quick resolution.
  • Anticipate, identify, and solve performance and operational issues that affect service. Provide a result-oriented approach to ensure efficiency and productivity of the team.
Manager, Inside Sales & Applications Engineering Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have excellent communication skills.

Manager, Inside Sales & Applications Engineering Credentials and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales, sales management or customer service preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in application engineering

Manager, Inside Sales & Applications Engineering Special Requirements

This position is primarily 'inside sales', and as such will not have significant yearly travel associated with it. However, there is a possibility that this position may be asked to attend a trade show or accompany a Regional Sales Manager on sales calls in order to provide a customer relationship and build a greater appreciation for our customer base and applications.

Manager, Inside Sales & Applications Engineering Training and Development

Due to the detail and breadth of our product offering, the training period is expected to be at least 4 โ€“ 6 weeks. It is extremely critical that this position has a very thorough understanding of the technical aspect of the equipment and can articulate where and how to apply it. It is also important that the manufacturing processes that surround the equipment are understood.
