The Inside Sales Manager provides strategic leadership for the branch’s inside sales operations, including inside sales, counter sales, cashiering, and receptionist functions. This role ensures exceptional customer service while developing and leading a high-performing team with a strong focus on safety, quality, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. This position also offers a unique long-term growth opportunity, with intentional development toward leadership.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the inside sales team to consistently deliver exceptional customer service.

  • Provide hands-on support during peak business periods by assisting with order entry, order fulfillment, customer loading, and phone coverage.

  • Prepare customer quotes and bid requests as needed.

  • Promote teamwork and collaboration across all departments.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.

  • Compile and analyze data to support sales audits, reporting, and performance tracking.

  • Conduct team meetings to communicate goals, procedures, product updates, and performance feedback.

  • Coach and counsel sales staff to improve performance and effectiveness.

  • Assign work and schedules to ensure timely customer service and accurate order processing.

  • Train and develop staff in order processing, quoting, returns, and customer transactions.

  • Establish performance objectives, review work quality, and address employee concerns.

  • Recommend disciplinary actions, terminations, and salary adjustments as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with leadership, purchasing, IT, warehouse, and other department managers to resolve daily operational issues.

  • Manage customer inquiries, complaints, order resolution, promotions, and vendor interactions.

  • Analyze customer requests and determine the most effective solutions.

  • Guide sales staff on pricing strategy and material quoting.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
