Job description

Beginnings Credit Union (Beginnings) is seeking a Junior Paralegal to assist the Mortgage Loan Department and Legal Department with mortgage loan-closing documents and closing transactions. Position requires regular communication with attorneys, law firms, realtors, and credit union members.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepares all documents for closing including, but not limited to, TRID documents, closing statements, supplemental closing documents, and payoff letters. Ensures all required loan documentation has been received and uploads necessary documents to the VLF. Verifies complete file for mortgage closing.
  • Title review of abstracts which may include refinance, purchase and/or HE and HELOC title documents. Assist with the creation of Schedule A's for Home Equity and first mortgage closings. Verifies complete title file for Home Equity/HELOCS.
  • Conducts closings for credit union refinances and purchases.
  • Answers credit union member and attorney phone calls. Distributes closing data/documents to members/law offices.
  • Act as back up to maintain Frontline Request pipeline.
  • Maintains Closing Pipeline and Legal Metrics.
  • Assists with Legal email questions/inquiries.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to three years of similar or related experience; paralegal experience preferred.
  • Must have strong communication skills. Contact with outside partners including credit union members, credit union vendors, realtors and attorneys, requiring ordinary courtesy, confidentiality and tact when providing assistance and information.
  • Basic computer proficiency; ability to use windows software, computer keyboard and mouse, email, calculator, scanner, fax and copy machine.
