Job description

unWired is searching for an experienced Contractor Manager to manage our installation contractor relationships. Reporting to the COO, this position is responsible for contractor performance, scope compliance, and cost control across our installation vendor base. The Contractor Manager, Installations ensures that outsourced install and de-install work meet our quality, safety, and cycle-time standards.

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for installation contractors, managing day-to-day schedule coordination, dispatch coordination, and escalation resolution.
  • Own contractor SOW compliance — track deliverables, unit pricing, and scope against signed agreements, and flag deviations before they become disputes.
  • Conduct quality control audits on completed contractor installs, de-installs, upgrades, and repairs, including field spot-checks, against unWired's install standards.
  • Reconcile contractor invoices against completed, verified work orders prior to approval; identify billing discrepancies.
  • Monitor contractor capacity against install volume forecasts, and manage resourcing or throughput gaps proactively.
  • Track and report contractor KPIs (install cycle time, first-time-fix rate, rework/callback rate, SLA adherence) via our Salesforce frameworks.
  • Partner with operations leadership on contract renewals, SOW amendments, and vendor performance reviews.
  • Support onboarding of new contractor vendors, including safety and process orientation.
  • Build and maintain the reporting cadence that gives executive leadership visibility into contractor performance versus benchmarks.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent language and mathematical skills.
  • 3–5 years managing field installation, construction, or service delivery operations in telecom, ISP, cable, or a related field-services industry.
  • Direct experience managing third-party contractors or subcontractors, including scheduling, SOW enforcement, invoice reconciliation, and quality oversight.
  • Working knowledge of FTTH and/or fixed wireless installation processes and standard install/de-install workflows.
  • Proficiency in reading and applying routine contract terms (SOWs, MSAs) in day-to-day vendor management.
  • Experience with CRM/ops platforms for scheduling and KPI tracking (Salesforce preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication. This role regularly represents unWired standards to external vendor crews and reports performance data to executive leadership.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to field sites across unWired's service territory.

Benefits:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance with company subsidies
  • Company paid Life Insurance and AD&D
  • Long Term Disability Insurance
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • 401K with company contributions, including discretionary Profit-Sharing contributions
  • Holiday, Vacation, and Sick paid time off
  • Complementary internet connection
