Job Duties

  • The Program Support Specialist provides administrative, operational, and logistical support for the implementation of the facility-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (FW-PBIS) program at Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center.
  • This position plays a key role in maintaining the systems, records, purchasing processes, and data necessary to support resident incentive programs and behavioral initiatives.
  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining and managing resident behavioral incentive tracking systems, including point accounting, resident profiles, and program-related data to support decision-making and program fidelity.
  • Collecting, organizing, and maintaining accurate records, reports, inventories, and documentation related to FW-PBIS operations.
  • Coordinating purchasing activities, including procurement requests, order tracking, receiving, inventory management, and compliance with agency purchasing procedures and SWAM procurement initiatives.
  • Monitoring and maintaining incentive inventories, resident reward systems, and associated expenditures to ensure accountability and operational efficiency.
  • Preparing and updating recurring reports related to inventory, expenditures, purchasing activity, and program operations.
  • Collaborating with behavior analysts, facility staff, and agency stakeholders to support data collection, program implementation, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintaining electronic and physical records in accordance with agency requirements and ensuring information is organized, accurate, and readily accessible.
  • Supporting special projects, agency initiatives, and operational needs as assigned.
  • Demonstrating strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting established deadlines.
  • This position requires proficiency with data management, recordkeeping, inventory control, and administrative processes, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment that supports positive outcomes for youth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software (i.e., Excel, Word, Power Point) to also include spreadsheet applications and database management.
  • Experience maintaining confidential records and maintaining a filing system.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with residents, colleagues and supervisory team.
  • Ability to respond to requests as needed to meet established deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally in all interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks based on approaching deadlines.
  • Must possess the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and in an organized manner.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to manage up by anticipating the needs of leadership and providing information in a proactive manner.
  • Ability to create and revise division specific procurement procedures as well as management of items and records.
  • Adheres to established protocols to ensure consistency of program implementation.

Additional Considerations

  • Highly fluent in office practices, computer skills, systems analysis, and organizational practices. Current certification as a Virginia Contracting Associate.
  • Experience maintaining multiple data measures in an organized manner, experience creating and maintaining systems to track and manage inventory and corresponding data.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow VA and agency procurement guidelines and policies.
