Bond-Pro is a 25+ year old software company and the leader in providing enterprise software to insurance companies to manage their specialty line of Surety Bonds.
This position is open only to candidates residing in Florida, Georgia and Texas. Relocation is not an option.
This is a full-time W-2 salaried position. No contractors or agencies please.

Role Summary
We are seeking a Database Developer/Administrator with strong development and production support experience across SQL Server and relational database management systems (RDBMS) generally. This role spans database development and administration, with a focus on production support, data patching, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred, other clouds welcome).
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize database schemas, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views in SQL Server and other RDBMS platforms.
  • Provide production database support, including incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of performance and availability issues.
  • Plan and execute data patching, hotfixes, and schema changes across development, test, and production environments with minimal downtime.
  • Perform performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategy, and execution-plan analysis.
  • Administer database instances: installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Manage and support databases in cloud environments - Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, SQL Server on Azure VMs, or equivalent services on other cloud platforms.
  • Implement and maintain security controls, access management, encryption, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor database health, capacity, and resource utilization; set up alerting and proactive maintenance.
  • Support migrations between on-premises and cloud, and between database versions.
  • Collaborate with development teams on data modeling, release management, and deployment automation.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and runbooks.

Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience as both a database developer and administrator (typically 3-5+ years).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server (T-SQL); experience with other RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) is a plus.
  • Hands-on production support experience, including on-call/incident handling.
  • Demonstrated experience with data patching, schema deployment, and release/change management.
  • Performance tuning and query optimization expertise.
  • Experience with backup/recovery, high availability (Always On, replication, clustering), and disaster recovery.
  • Cloud database experience - Azure preferred (Azure SQL, Managed Instance), or AWS/GCP equivalents.
  • Solid understanding of database security, access control, and compliance.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have
  • Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate, DP-300).
  • Experience with CI/CD for databases (DACPAC, Flyway, Liquibase, Redgate, Azure DevOps).
  • Scripting/automation with PowerShell, Python, or similar.
  • Infrastructure-as-code (ARM/Bicep, Terraform) for database provisioning.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, SQL Sentry, Redgate).
  • ETL / data integration experience (SSIS, Azure Data Factory).

Soft Skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills under production pressure.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance development work with operational/support duties.

Benefits
  • Medical insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Generous Paid Time Off
