What is contract fractional sales management?

Contract Fractional Sales Management refers to hiring an experienced sales leader on a part-time or contract basis to manage and grow a company's sales team and processes. Instead of employing a full-time sales manager, companies can leverage the expertise of a fractional sales manager to handle sales strategy, coaching, pipeline management, and performance tracking for a set number of hours or projects. This approach is cost-effective, flexible, and especially beneficial for small to mid-sized businesses seeking leadership without the commitment of a full-time hire.

How does a contract fractional sales manager typically collaborate with existing sales teams to drive results?

A contract fractional sales manager works closely with your existing sales team, often stepping in to assess current processes and identify improvement areas. They lead by example, providing hands-on coaching, setting clear performance goals, and introducing best practices tailored to your industry. Collaboration usually involves regular meetings, progress reviews, and open communication to ensure alignment with company objectives. Since they work part-time or on a project basis, they prioritize efficient knowledge transfer and empower in-house staff for long-term success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a contract fractional sales manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Contract Fractional Sales Manager, you need a proven sales management background, expertise in sales strategy, and strong analytical skills, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM platforms (like Salesforce or HubSpot), sales enablement tools, and relevant certifications such as Certified Sales Leadership Professional (CSLP) are highly valued. Exceptional communication, adaptability, and the ability to quickly build rapport with diverse teams are standout soft skills in this role. These competencies enable fractional sales managers to drive results, quickly integrate into client organizations, and deliver measurable improvements in sales performance.

Job description

Lloyd Jones LLC Yacht Brokerage | Charter | Fractionalization | Florida East Coast

Yacht Broker — Florida East Coast

Full-Time | 3–5 Years Experience Required

About the Opportunity

We are a new full-service yacht brokerage and charter company launching on Florida's East Coast. We are seeking experienced, driven brokers to join us at the ground floor and play a direct role in shaping how this company grows. You will have close working access to ownership, a structured compensation package, and the resources of a company built for long-term scale.

Spearhead Our Yacht Fractionalization Division

In addition to traditional brokerage and charter, we are launching a yacht fractionalization company, allowing clients to purchase 1/4 to 1/5 ownership shares in premium vessels. We already have our first vessel in the water and ready to go: an 84-foot yacht available for fractional ownership. Your immediate priority will be to identify and onboard partial owners for this vessel, giving you a tangible, market-ready product to present to clients from day one. From there, you will help us grow the fractional fleet, identify new ownership candidates, and build this division into a full-scale operation. This is a significant opportunity to establish an entirely new segment of the Florida luxury marine market.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and develop relationships with buyers, sellers, and industry contacts
  • Acquire new listings through networking, referrals, and marina connections
  • Conduct yacht showings and present each vessel professionally
  • Negotiate terms and pricing between buyers and sellers
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial inquiry through closing
  • Identify and onboard fractional ownership candidates for our existing 84-foot vessel
  • Cross-refer charter clients as a future brokerage pipeline
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and inventory across the Florida market

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of marine industry or yacht brokerage experience
  • Strong working knowledge of yachts, boats, and marine equipment
  • Established network of client contacts within the yachting community
  • Demonstrated ability to attract listings and grow a book of business
  • Experience in sales, negotiation, and transaction management
  • Proficiency in digital marketing and social media platforms
  • Self-directed, organized, and comfortable in a startup environment
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Compensation

This position offers a structured compensation package consisting of a base salary, performance-based annual bonus, and commission on all brokerage and fractionalization transactions. Specific figures will be discussed during the interview process and will reflect the candidate's experience and sales history.

  • Base Salary: Competitive, experience-based
  • Performance Bonus: Annual, tied to volume targets
  • Commission: Per brokerage and fractional sale
