Job Responsibilities:

Position Overview

The Manufacturing Process Improvement Intern will serve as a key driver in ensuring operational excellence through the adoption and implementation of the MAFACT (Magna Factory Concept) framework. This position focuses on establishing, maintaining, and enhancing manufacturing processes to meet the highest standards of operational efficiency, quality, and sustainability. The role involves identifying opportunities to build world-class systems, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring the standardization of operational procedures across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and documenting production data to identify trends and inefficiencies
  • Conduct time studies, cycle time measurements, and workflow observations
  • Help map current manufacturing processes using tools such as process flow diagrams or value stream maps
  • Participate in Kaizen evens, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving activities.
  • Assist with standardizing work instructions and updating process documentation as changes are implemented.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic analytical skills

Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.

Special Knowledge / Skills:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
  • Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office and manufacturing environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
