Short Description
The Continuous Improvement Intern will support initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and performance across manufacturing, equipment, facility layouts, material handling, and logistics functions. This role will contribute to structured improvement efforts focused on reducing waste, increasing productivity, and optimizing processes within a dynamic operational environment.
Through hands-on project work and cross-functional collaboration, the intern will gain practical experience applying continuous improvement methodologies, data analysis, and problem-solving techniques to real-world business challenges.
This opportunity is ideal for sophomore, junior, and senior students currently enrolled in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business-related programs, who are eager to develop their skills in operations and process improvement.

Main Tasks
  • Lead and support initiatives targeting in-process defect reduction, scrap reduction, setup/changeover time reduction, productivity gains, and overall OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvements
  • Coordinate activities related to new product development to ensure smooth transitions through gate approvals and into production
  • Develop, maintain, and manage continuous improvement processes, metrics, and supporting tools
  • Promote and standardize work procedures and production fundamentals across the organization
  • Conduct value stream mapping and analysis to identify and eliminate process inefficiencies
  • Support Lean Production System training and initiatives across the plant
  • Assist with root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions for internal and external quality or safety concerns
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Compensation Data
The hourly rate for this internship ranges between $18.00/hr and $20.00/hr.
